The Crit Show is a bimonthly one-night art event showcasing the work of two emerging artists. Artists are chosen who deal with similar concepts and subjects matter, but not necessarily in the same mediums. The show focuses on creating a dialogue between the viewers and the artist; opening with a reception followed by an artist talk, leading into a discourse/critique of the work with the artist. It is the aim of The Crit Show to give artists a place to try out new ideas and concepts where they can get some honest constructive, supportive and critical feedback while gaining experience exhibiting and talking about their practice.
The Crit Show was founded in Vancouver in 2010 by Peter Gynd Medley as a venue for emerging artists in the Vancouver region to show, talk about and get feed back on their work. Currently The Crit Show is searching for a new venue in Brooklyn NY.
